remixalicious

let's start with this lovely number. i like that the remix maintains some of the darkness, but also gives it some added pep.

"daniel (death metal disco scene remix)" bats for lashes

what is that that i hear?... is miike snow feeling irie?

"animal (mark ronson remix)" by miike snow

"maybe sometimes make it easy."

"two weeks (fred falke radio mix)" by grizzly bear

i'm pretty sure i'm a dancer. you?

"human (armin van buuren remix)" by the killers

my favorite time of year

someone coined me, "sxsw sarah." i'll take it. spring break 2010 did not let me down!

my new year's resolution was to write down all of the shows i see for a year, considering "not swearing" goes out the window in record time. so i kept good track and here are some shows i caught at sx this year:

black joe lewis, octopus project, the givers, metric, joe pug, frightened rabbit, okkervil/roky erickson, the walkmen, broken bells, miike snow, sharon jones & dap-kings, jj, classixx, dr. dog, local natives, temper trap, black rebel motorcycle club, asteroids galaxy tour, real estate, she & him, washed out, memory tapes, major lazer, still flyin', bone thugs, sleigh bells, delta spirit, band of skulls, here we go magic

and more importantly, songs/bands that blew my mind...

"animal" by miike snow

"saw you first" by the givers

"feel it all around" by washed out

"bicycle" by memory tapes

"sun hands" by local natives

"swim until you can't see land" by frightened rabbit
